Reindeer Sketch redux:

Here is the latest version. I wanted a bit of Lapland flavor in the ornamentation (harness, hat, scarf). It got too busy when it came to the border - so I merely used 'ric-rac' (which is used ALL the time on traditional Lap clothing as far as I can tell). Don't love it - but am at a loss as to what to try instead...? Are the snow flakes distracting? I don't know... I've looked at this too long now.

Hi Tara, You have been looking at it too long, it looks great. Two tweaks: consider putting a pompom on the boy's hat so it will show in between the antlers-and-I'm still bothered by the hand not flat on the side of the reindeer's nose. Love all the fancy parts! Kathleen

Good idea about the pompom Kathleen. I love love love the Lapland theme. It's great and yes, you will notice that later because you are too close to it now. Snow is not too busy.

Hi Tara, snow not to busy but you need one or two on the reindeer. Love the reinddeer, and lap theme. child- 2 tiny things- can you lift his gaze so it meets the reindeer's. and smash or bury his nose a little in the reindeers face? Gudrun (I don't know how to sign in)

Tara,
I love it. Agree about some snowflakes on reindeer. Not absolutely sure about child's hand--the shape of it in the mitten, but not upset either. Like child's face as is. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
