The 'herd' is coming in...

Bellevue, the next town over, had a call for entries for artists to paint/decorate around 40 "bucks" that will be displayed about town for a month or two and then be auctioned off to raise money for it's Performing Arts Center. Suzy, a good friend of mine, and a member of our local critique group (Painters Of Bumping Lake), had her proposal accepted and recently finished her entry.

In the last year or two, Suzy has concentrated on painting on silk - to amazing effect. These are a couple of panels, painted before applying to the stag:

Suzy with her finished product. (Her next project: a website! So you can see more of her beautiful work).

Her shirt looks like a continuation of the buck! In Vancoiver we had the Orcas in the City project. I think spirit bears are next. I saw the call to entry but couldn't get it together fast enough.

OMG how breathtaking, and what an inspired idea to apply the silk directly onto the figure. Thank you so much for sharing and be sure and tell her I am anxious for her websight to be up, so we can see more!!!

Tara, thanks for posting these pics. I have been wanting to share them too. It'll be great when Suzy gets a website up. She has so much beautiful work.
