Aftermath...
(This is the view out my front door. For a few more days at least).
Trying to get back in the work-groove. I manage to remain about a day and half behind where I hope to be to allow for sleep and a few breaks before my next deadline...
It has been downright chilly. Frosty rings around the moon. We woke up to every surface being covered with a thin layer of ice. (That sure made my walk with Jack fraught with excitement! In the places that the sun had not yet been, there was a glistening sheet of black ice... I only fell once!) Where the sun was lighting, clouds and plumes of steam billowed into the air as the ice melted and evaporated. The air was filled with columns and streamers of haze. Very dramatic. I wished I had had a camera with me (although I probably would have broken it in my slipping around out there).
My very sweet publishers of the current job I am working on sent me this lovely basket-o-goodies! (They read my blog - there is a large chocolate content amongst the caramels, jelly-bellies, gourmet asparagus and zinfindel vinegarette...) :-) My family is eyeing its contents voraciously. That's probably a good thing since one of my New Year's resolutions will be to cut back on all the 'treating' I've been doing... The sedentary hours I am spending now and for the forseeable future and quantities of chocolate and treats do not a healthy combination make. So - here's to my last chocolatey hurrah before 2007!
Hope you are all having a great week!

Still having balmy weather up here on my mountain.Even though you did not have your camera I am sure you could put on paper that image you describe.
Me too enough is enough on the *sweets!*
P.S. the rain came to whisperwings!
Lucky you with your publishers! I got two publishig cards and one of those was printed on their own computer...makes one feel real special!
Our fog is gone and now we have blustery showers. All good fun.
*(&!?# Blogger ate my last comment about the weather! As for that Lindt Intense ornage chocolate, I can eat one of those babies in a sitting! :)
i know the feeling of 'over-treating'! my daughters gave me a ridiculous amount of chocolate too! nothing better than chocolate love! good luck with your deadline!
I drove down to Portland yesterday and saw some very dramatic evaporation enroute: Sunstruck rock walls giving off plumes of mist! Wow!
I would've liked to photo it too, but not advised while driving 60mph!
Is that the view from your house of some one elses house covered in all those light up decorations!! wow...
Have a really good New Year and let's all look forward to a productive 2007. I kept meaning to say I love your illustrations of the tree men, they are truly wonderful.
