Just thought I'd share a few interesting textures from the weekend -
-from bird's nests nestled in the rafters--to tiny, boney remains of some forest rodent (with the teeniest little molars attached to the jawbones that I've ever seen)-
It was not like the Great Mushroom Year (the year before I began this blog), but we did find some edible fungi in the woods, mainly Tamarak Jack boletus and hollow-stemmed larch boletus - enough for some wild mushroom pasta and soup....
arboreal textures...
(BTW - Happy Autumnal Equinox)

Tara - outstanding textures, I love this collection! Aside from feeling the bumping lake environment from all my memory senses and muscles, I just love the colors and textures. I have followed each installment. Thanks for sharing!
What a wonderful forest!
Beautiful pictures, I can almost smell that leafy forest scent.
Thanks for sharing. I loved seeing your pics. They remind of so many pleasant memories. I appreciate seeing the world through your eyes.
Great photos. Makes me really jealous (though not as jealous as the IMC posts you've made. I should have listened to Dan when he told me to go....)
These are sublime. Thank you.
So many beautiful glimpses of woodlands, I can almost smell them!
Happy autumn to you,
M.
The tree right under the mushroom picture is obviously the front door to a tree elf home.
No doubt about that...
