The wonder that is my mother's garden -

Most of the seeds I planted before I went to visit my folks have started to sprout.

And a few of the seeds outside have also just begun (here you see the starts of microgreens!)

But my gardens always pale in comparison to the incredibleness that are my mother's...

She names her homes and land. This is apt - she has dozens and dozens of roses growing around her property (although there is not much to show for them now beyond hips).

Pathways and gateways...

Statuary galore...

Cold frames and square-foot beds for veggies -

-plenty of fruiting trees -

-all sorts of herbs and ground covers -

-sheds, arbors, decks, pots....

-and signs pointing the way to where we all live. :-)

Even in winter and early spring, it is beautiful and charming.

Who lives in Bodmin Moor? Is that the Cornwall Bodmin? Your mum's garden is lovely, I like the old window frame usage, (reminds me of mine)and she has a real live fairy at the garden gate. ;)

The Bodmin Moor sign is a call back to a trip to England we took with her several years ago. It seemed wherever we went, there was a sign pointing to Bodmin Moor.

It became a fun thing for us, finding as many as we could. So she put one in her garden. We even had a similar sign in ours here in MD for a while. :)

What an enchanting place. I especially love the picture of your mother at the gate with mountains in the background. Like your situation, my mother has the magic touch and can grow beautiful, fruitful gardens effortlessly (or so it seems to me). Unlike me, who spent an hour this morning surveying the worm damage on my newly sprouted tomatoes. A few days of neglect and my garden rebels. Great pics!

No cold frames here, it's straight out into the sunshine [although it is a bit blustery today.]
