WIP Wednesday - Retreat Part III

We usually have 'working' retreats -

We had a lovely space to 'work' in... whatever form that took...

There was research and sketching...

...quilting (aren't these batiks scrumptious?)...

...painting on silk....

...reading about, talking about and just thinking about art...

What else are retreats for?

Wow Tara, you really know how to get inspired. This looks like a great retreat, and tank filler-upper.

Wow, that is really beautiful. I remember in college, Hallmark came to tell us about their company and artists. Every year they offer a retreat to their artists. They go to a farm house in the country and just create. They can do anything; pottery, painting, writing, whatever, with no requirements for it to be an actual product. I wanted to work there so bad, just for that retreat!

Always slightly envious of your retreats, Tara.
I'm just back from NZ;had several days sans power (thankyou, Cyclone Ului); unfinished artwork took priority once the hot water was restored.
So...catching up with blog-jam will take a while. But there should be some artr pics in my next post.

makes me long for the retreats at esalen. so soul-filling to have someplace beautiful to learn and experience.
