oh my oh my oh my oh my oh my oh my....!!
Had some of the Dagoba Xocolatl Hot Chocolate today - and oh my!!! Nirvana chocolately goodness - near ecstasy! I must read you the back label in part:
"The Art of Chocolate Alchemy"
Pronounced Choco-la'tl, this hot chocolate is based on the traditional cacao drink that the Aztecs regarded as liquid gold. Using our exquisite Authentic Hot Chocolate recipe as a base, we add a hint of ground chilies and cinnamon to create a soothing chocolate experience. Chocolate drinks played an important role in pan-Mesoamerican rituals and festivities. In Mayan tradition, a bride and groom would sip cacao from a golden goblet to secure their vows. We offer Xocolatl to re-initiate this beverage to a status of reverence and respect.
I must say that my respect and reverence level (as well as my chocolate-high level) is pretty lofty at the moment. It's been chilly, grey and damp out - perfect hot chocolate day. Carefully following their specific instructions (stirring the milk in a clockwise circle eleven times, then counterclockwise eleven times, continuously 'until vapors rise' - or in my case, soy milk - I tend to avoid dairy), I whisked in the amazingly aromatic chocolate mix and as I poured the thick, velvety liquid into my mug the sun broke brightly though the clouds. Auspicious, surely! I must say that this is one of the richest, most layered and flavorful experiences my tongue has had for a long time!
Oh my....
On the work front, got a call from my publishers today and it looks like they might be able to round me up a bit more time on the various upcoming deadlines - which would be SO good! (I wouldn't need nearly as much chocolate just to cope!) Keep your fingers crossed!

That looks to-die-for delicious. This requires further investigation! Inspector Soozcat is on the case.
Thats good news about the deadlines, why not have the chocolate anyway celebrate!
Penny.
What a delightful post. Must look for this.
I love making hot chocolate! (not the instant kind - the real, honest to goodness kind). Last night we had it with peppermint marshmallows melted in it! Yum! Your description is lovely!
Crumbs, that description is almost as good as enjoying oneself!
Fingers crossed for the deadline!
