Just poking my head up and out of the studio for a moment to celebrate the fact that Loreena McKennitt's latest CD comes out tomorrow! (She's one of my musical heroes).
There's real consistancy between your artwork and taste in music. I know it's a bit cliched but I listen to a lot of Enya. It's good music to work to as it doesn't intrude on my concentration. I'll see if this album is on itunes.
I've been waiting for this to come out, I don't know how I found her, (I'd never heard of her, just found some samples on the internet) and as soon as I heard her I thought of you, in fact, I was going to email you and ask if you knew her as it seemed just your 'thing'. I was obviously right!
Yes - you guys know me well. My brother introduced me to her about 10 years ago (he saw her perform live at Harvard when he was getting his doctorate there), and I was *immediately* hooked. I have everything she's put out on CD and don't seem to get tired of her ever - her music or her writing. She so impresses me - how she writes about her influences and how she integrates art into her lifestyle... (*sigh* hero worship moment)
I like Enya too Chris - but she is much more 'one note' to me than LM.
I'm listening right now to "Istanbul" (from your link, thank you). Have you read Orhan Pamuk's "Black Book" or his essay collection about Istanbul? Gotta get that tape, M.
I discovered Loreena McKennitt a few years ago - on someone's recommendation - an ex - I really liked her stuff, but I haven't listened to any in ages - I must dig my CDs out and have a listen .... Thanks for the reminder ;)

I have a Loreena McKennitt compilation that I haven't listened to for ages. Must do that today!
