Late fall activities...

One of the books I worked on earlier this year looks like it is now available. I was working on it leisurely early this summer before getting the *big job*, and then had to really hurry to finish it at the same time as initial sketches on the new project. The first few pictures take place in the autumn (and are SUNNY - unlike here. So, in lieu of outdoor photographs, you are going to get paintings).

Life continues much as it has - many studio hours. More revisions. Occasional breaks when I just *can't* work any more - I dragged my son outside yesterday for about 45 minutes inbetween showers and did a bit of fall-garden cleanup (top-dressing beds with loads of manure, cleaning out the large herb pots, raking a few leaves and refilling the bird feeders).

Tomorrow, expect more of the same.

Hello!
I especially like the area around the rabbit, the colours of blues and greens on the ground and the graduation of colour from rusts to yellows on the bush behind is lovely.

Hi Tara
What a beautiful illustration, The detail is lovely, there is a real sense of depth with the light and shade, this is the sort of illustration I love looking at. I wonder if I can get it through amazon?

I just love the way you do animals. They remind me of Jan Brett a bit.

This makes me cheerful just looking at it! My monsters are drooling, they want to know when they can move in.
I love all the details you have put in, and the colors are from that perfect fall day that comes just once a year.
Great job!

Your doe is wonderful. Deer who have no fear of human beings look at you just like that... "Hmm, it walks on two legs. How curious."
