It's been a good week for riches of this sort. The most dramatic being the Lunar Eclipse night before last. Those of us here in the Pacific Northwest had a sparklingly clear sky and a brilliant view. Even though it was in the middle of the night my kids wanted to see it, so we all gathered on the back deck and huddled together in our jammies just a bit before 3 am to watch the last sliver of silver disappear into murky orange. Just as the moon moved fully into shadow, we saw a shooting star streak across the sky just below it. Treasured experiences indeed.
Have you discovered Stephanie Meyer's YA vampire series yet? The latest, which was released this month, is coincidentally called "Eclipse". (An added bonus for me - it takes place over here on the Olympic Peninsula, so I recognize many of the places). The author was here last week doing a book reading and signing, which my daughter got to go attend - I, alas, was here in the studio - but we do now have the first three books personalized and autographed. If you haven't read them yet, and like YA fantasy, these are a jolly-good read.
With the occasional appearance of the sun this month, and the warm temperatures that it brings, we have some lovely, heavenly orbs ripening in the garden at last! There really is not much better than sun-ripened veggies straight off the vine. I finally got enough cherry tomatoes to make my annual tart and will make it as many times as I can before I run out of cherry tomatoes and basil.
And my last bit of Celestial Riches comes from Chantal over at Celestine Musings. I received a beautiful pack of her collage cards (which I think are probably too pretty to actually *use* and send to someone else. 'Guess they'll have to live with me! :-)
The moon is rising huge and golden and just past full tonight.
Bounties indeed.

I'm a moon lover!
I love it, and will often get Nick out of bed to "come looooook at the moooon!".
Sweetie that he is, he always obliges.
My favourite is when it's all peachy coloured, just as it's rising, especially this time of year.
xx
The moon has been wonderful recently. K thought I was mad as when we camped at the week end I tryed dancing by the light of the moon. Your lavender sugar was lovely in the shortbread Gretal made, thankyou, it was a shame you could not of eaten some too.
Thanks for sharing your riches with us, Tara! Great photo of the moon.
Now I wish I'd bothered to go take a peek. But that would have meant wandering around the neighborhood in my jammies, so not really a great idea.
Wasn't that eclipse powerful?! Wow! What a beautiful photo you posted. And yes, I'm with you about home-grown vegetables, especially tomatoes. You know how people often forget that a tomato is actually a fruit? Well, my playful theory is that store-bought tomatoes are vegetables but home-grown ones are deliciously yummy juicy fruit! Aha! Glad you enjoyed the cards :-)
Ah, Tara! A lovely lunar shot. Thankyou so much as I missed out.Cloud cover up most of the south/central coast put paid to our hopes.
My fingers are X'd for some golden grape tomatoes as I've just thrown out a few that were past eating.
I watched the eclipse for about half an hour or so, didn't look very red to me though.
Fantastic moon pic - I love the idea of everyone up at 3 of the clock for a little magical experience and then back to bed - reminds me of getting up to see the New Year in when I was little.
Meanwhile I am suffering tomato envy...
Absolutely love the picture! Wouldn't that be great on a wall for Halloween.
Did you change your banner or is it me under the Lunarinfluence?
O love it!
And I love the red moon, red ribbon and red cherry tomatos all together.
