Autumn storm!

It's been a very exciting 24-hours, weatherwise. Wind! Rain! Downed trees! Power outages! (that was all last night. I took a bit of video of the wind, but haven't figured out how you load that onto your blog...) -

And today, we've had Thunder! Hail! Serious Rain! (remember, this is Seattle - land famous for its omnipresent misty drizzle. Not for real rain. And thunder storms? We maybe hear thunder, briefly, once of twice a year - so it's a big deal!)

The sky went nearly black for a bit - with *huge* claps of thunder -and then the hail started pelting.

The hail stones were a healthy size - the larger ones were between the size of a pea and a grape. And they made very impressive noises as they struck objects in their trajectory.

If you are not experiencing danger or damage, real storms can be quite exhilarating! What is it, all the negative ions in the atmosphere bouncing around, or what?

No real damage for us beyond some fallen branches and flattened Jerusalem artichokes, so I was free to enjoy the storm's impressiveness!

[Added later: after a few hours of on-and-off 'real' rain, the sky quickly cleared itself of the bulk of the clouds and then boasted a bit of sun and a huge, full rainbow to top off the day....]

Thank goodness, the storm is gone!
Here it snowed in the morning.
I went back to bed. :-(

Wow! My daughter said they had a storm but didn't mention that little white stuff! Good thing it didn't last too long.

Oh there's nothing like a good thunder storm is there, so exciting. Our electricity frequently goes off in the winter when there's thunder and lightning !

You don't need a video. The photos tell it all! WOW.
I am glad you are fine.

Loading a video is easy now. There's a video-loading icon right next to the photo-loading icon in compose mode. As for weather, I was too busy admiring your lovely deck railings since we need to rebuild ours...

See...that's what we normally get...this year we had the rain, drizzle rain and mist rain and then more rain, with triple digits sandwiched in between. Now I know...we had your misplaced weather.
We finally had two thunderstorms back to back the other night...July storms in October! Crazy year!!!

I agree that storms are rather exhilirating! Glad there was no real damage. I just glanced through your portfolio, and wanted to say how wonderful I thought it was. Your illustrations of children are so engaging and vibrant, very lively! Thank you.

Can you believe it. My poor dog was so scared, she ran and hid in our middle room. But, we managed okay. Glad to hear you are okay.
