I am currently "watching" (more like listening with the occasional glance up when it feels necessary) Robin of Sherwood, a British series from the mid-80s, full of long 80s hair, a Clannad soundtrack and lots of fun, pagan references. Plus views of Bamburgh and Alnwick castles in Northumbria - both places high on my want-to-visit list.One of the new-to-the-Robin-Hood-mythology inclusions in the series is frequent interaction with Herne the Hunter. I first came across a reference to the Herne legend in Susan Cooper's book "The Dark is Rising" which completely captivated me as a child (and is currently being made into a movie which apparently bears not nearly enough resemblance to its source material). I've posted it before, but here is my version of one take on Herne (he's kind of fun to re-experience after a couple of years of exclusively painting 'twinkly', little girl-fairy images:)

Yes, I remember that Robin Hood series. Or at least the few episodes my British friend showed me back in college. I remember the soundtrack better though. Ah, Clannad.
And the Dark is Rising books are some of my all time favorites. Another college friend introduced those to me, for which I will be forever grateful.

Oh Tara, I hope you'll soon fully recover. There is nothing worse than thinking one is over the flu only to be down with it again the next day! And you're right, deadlines don't wait... but when I feel time is running out I call upon Merlin to help me warp time. I always meet deadlines :-)
I think I may have seen an episode or two of Robin of Sherwood ages ago, but you've made me feel like watching the whole series. And I think I commented on your interpretation of Herne last year, but I like it just as much as back then.

We have had one cold or bug after another finally feel on the mend. I like the disprooving rabbits book, they do all have that look, I used to think they looked like a big fat hippo. Glad to be reading your books have been getting excellent reviews but then I'm not surprised
