Luckily the day was somewhat sunny and not too cold, so I still had some light to work by and only needed a light lap blanket to stay moderately comfortable, but by late afternoon with waning light and dropping temperatures, I was getting a bit (ok, a LOT) crabby and headachey from eye-strain. Deadlines, you are my nemesis! (I'm feeling terribly sorry for myself. Can you tell?)
Power is back on (SO grateful!). This wash is dry. Going to work some more.

Hmm yes the idea of working by candlelight doesn't seem quite so attractive when you put it like that does it?
Cheers
OH NO!
Poor thing. Good luck with your deadlines. You sound exhausted.
xo
Murphy's Law at work! Your work looks so good while I struggle terribly with a painting and I actually have power! Yeesh.
Keep at it!
I wonder how many (if any!) people consider the artist when they flick through a pretty book...?
At this end of the market it's so clean-cut and easy for us, isn't it? We pick up a book, pay the price and never give pause to the turmoil that may have been in its making.
Hang in there! Give me a ring soon before you go completely doo-lally!
Oh my, I'm sorry you had to work in such conditions!!! As a matter of fact, I had a work week "from hell" too, with things going wrong right from the start... My deadline ended up being so tight that I had to work very very late on Tuesday and through the night Wednesday to deliver by lunchtime the next day. Needless to say I've been recovering since! Sometimes a "regular" job sounds appealing... Well, almost ;-)
oh no! That happened to us last Thanksgiving. Luckily, roast turkey knows no deadline. We could just cook him the next day.
Oh no, thats dreadful, things like that always happen at the worst possible moment.
Hope you manage to get your paintings done ok.
Best of luck!

as i write this and visit blogs, i am putting off working on the magazine, and painting some tiny beach scenes for a gallery, and paying my mortgage, etc...i don't know if you leave things to the last minute, but i do...i guess i work well under deadline pressure...or chaos...i do hope that you will speed through your next few illustrations...hugs, rebecca
I like the idea of working by lantern in theory....I love the shots of your work space.
Power or no power.....your photos and paintings look totally charming and romantic.
I am glad you managed your deadline.
OOOOHHHH NO. You must have been sooo stressed. There must have been a moment of wanting to sit and C R Y. How overwhelming!
