Recently I read an article on cortisol, a damaging hormone that we produce when under stress. And if under prolonged periods of stress (say, two years of unremitting deadlines?) it actually *kills* brain cells. Dead. Gone forever...
No WONDER I'm having a heck of a time trying to approach anything creative and designy, like composition, with any degree of ease or competence... My brain is fried.
Maybe Studio Kitty will scoot over and share her napping spot with me... That's got to be helpful in alleviating unwanted hormonal effects, wouldn't you think?

I admire studio kitty to be able to sleep like that! So do you suppose if we watch funny movies and laugh alot we can reverse the process? Just a thought!
Cats are the BEST stress reliever ever! Great photos.
I wondered why I couldnt think properly!
Your cat looks just lovely, so comfortable.
P.x
Looks like your companion will live forever with her ability to relieve stress! You just need an extended vacation, and then get back on that horse again slowly...
It's a good job then that you were born with more than the average number of brain cells;¬)
I truly believe cats (and dogs, if they are not puppies) can regenerate brain cells just by sitting on your lap. Every studio needs a cat.
But inspiration can come back.....don't ever doubt that!
It is such a long time since I have spent much time visiting my world wide blogging friends. Nice to be back.
Oh my, is that what happened to me?! LOL
I do believe that if we resource ourselves, tend to our inspiration well and nurture our creative soul, it all comes back though.
I linked to you and your "dead brain cells" in my blog today ;-)
Thanks for the inspiration you sent my way.
I concur. Kitty therapy is the best de-stressor around.
Cheers
AH, that accounts for a great deal!
Sadlyh, being too relaxed is also not conducive to the flow of creative energy so it seems that, having swapped the Rat Race in England for a blissfully peaceful existence in rural France, I just can't win!
Lovely cat!
Hmmm, B Vitamin complex and Nettle Oatstraw tea plus lots of sleep, plus pet of your choice; my contribution to stress recovery.
Nettle Oatstraw Tea (Sweet Oat Grass is not the same) About 1/4 C of dried Nettle and 1/4 C of dried Oatstraw put in a quart Mason jar add hot water, cover, let steep 6 hours or overnight, strain out he plant material and drink about 2 cups a day. Keep unused portion in fridge, don't drink it cold though, bad for stomach. This brew is good for adrenals and nerves. You can source herbs at any herb store or on-line. Will write more on my blog, adrenal burn-out is so common. Sleep well, eat well, kiss a cat.
Ah-ha! So now I know what happened...
Found my way here through Britt-Arnhild's blog.
