Ok, One More Halloween Nod -

-and then I'll leave it alone and, I don't know, maybe get back to actually posting about art. Anyhow, I thought this was too funny:

In The Know: Has Halloween Become Overcommercialized?

You know, it's really interesting the conversations I've had regarding Halloween this year. Talked with PG in the UK about how different the emphasis on Halloween is here in the states than it is elsewhere in places like Britain (I don't think the states have met a holiday that they haven't gleefully commercialized). And my sister and I were talking about how October is nearly our favorite month of the year and how much fun we have decorating and reveling in the slightly macabre and creepy, and then bam! the second November hits, that feeling is entirely gone and we're ready to move on to other things.

I guess it's good to remember the True Meaning of the holidays while you can... :-)

Great clip! When I lived in England briefly (early '80s) Halloween didn't even make a blip on the radar. It was all Guy Fawkes Day. Recently a friend there lamented to me about how it had slowly invaded and he'd had enough.

You know when we lived in England they didn't do Halloween at all...that was a mere 20 years ago and now they are gleefully joining in!!! Loved this by the way!

Fabulous indeed. Yes, we're finally admitting defeat and trying to embrace the American way. I was even bold enough to enter a shop the day after Halloween to buy decorations for next year in the sale, so I suppose I'm sold on the American dream too.
Cheers

May I chip in? Nothing Halloween, I promise! Worse. Yesterday, I spotted the first .... oh well, do you think it is fair to say so? Better stay with this piece of old news:
Yes, Tara, there is a Santa, oopsie, try again: Yes, Tara, there are still roses blooming around Vienna! We have had a spell of very late Indian Summer days, broken by rain since Friday, but temperatures are still such that a raincoat is all you need.

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday!
Have you ordered your turkey yet?
(Imagine, my kids want to have a Thanksgiving for family only this year!)
