Christmas "Adam"...

...the night that comes before Christmas "Eve"....right?

The holly and the ivy,
When they are both full grown
Of all the trees that are in the wood
The holly bears the crown
O the rising of the sun
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing of the choir....
(Another image repost.) My folks flew in yesterday for Christmas, and last night we went downtown into Seattle to see "A Festival of Lessons & Carols" - which was fabulous. Such amazing young vocalists. Plus the live musicians - it was a very moving performance. "The Holly and the Ivy" was one of my favorites. And Benjamin Britten's “This Little Babe” was new to me, and absolutely breathtaking.

"Holly and Ivy" is one of my favourites, too. I like the old traditional ones. You probably know "The Boar's Head."*
However you celebrate it, I wish you and those you love a happy and peace-filled time.
(There may be something for you at my place.)

* Steel Eye Span do a good one.

I have mentioned before how much I love your Celtic tree alphabet series, right? If so it bears repeating.

Lovely. I'm with Di; aren't the lyrics to this one better than most? And such a perfect illustration. May you, your family and your awesoem talent have a fantastic Christmas, Tara!

These really are my favorites. I think you should do a Partridge in a Pear Tree but use instead all figures out of Celtic mythos.

On the first day of Christmas,
My true love gave to me,
A Green Man in a Pear Tree.

On the second day. . .Two Morris Dancers. . .
