Succulent (late) Saturday, ie. the Harry Potter Exhibit

Got to spend a lovely evening in Seattle with friends...

Seattle is a beautiful town, especially at dusk. Glass windows and sculptures are figured prominently...

We took a stroll across the Seattle Center - pass the EMP/SFM (Experience Music Project/Science Fiction Museum - which has the best logo evAR) - which is sporting signage for the current Battlestar Galactica Exhibit -

- and the Space Needle is always an impressive sight at night...

But it was the Pacific Science Center - specifically, The Harry Potter Exhibit that we were there to see.

Sadly they wouldn't let us take any photos at the exhibit (which was pretty spectacular) - so I had to buy various swag, including an exhibition book to commemorate... (Even the bags were cool.)

You can see a bit of the exhibit on the video at this link, or I can give you a glimpse of the exhibit book -

(The photos are not as clear as I wish in the book, nor as close-up in most cases - but it it pretty darn comprehensive...)

It was incredibly fun to see. Wish I could have lived there! :-)

Lovely night, great company, and fabulous exhibit. Yay.

Hi Tara, I just received your "pay it forward" package in the mail - thank you!! Wow!! I remember those postcards when they were works in progress. What a delight to actually see and touch them! And how did you know lavender is my favourite scent evar? And the chocolate? Well, I had to take pics fast before I opened a couple and ate them. :) In keeping with the spirit of your offering, I will soon be posting your generous gift and will offer a "pay it forward" of my own. Thanks so much, Tara, you really made my week! :)

The Harry Potter exhibit was delightful. Inside Hagrid's cabin! The costumes! The dining room and all the luscious food! Some day I hope to make your recent trip and visit Hogwarts and Hogsmeade and.... At the Seattle exhibit I was greeted as Mrs. Weasley (I have red hair) and given headphones for the audio tour. I spent WAY too much money for a Horcrux necklace at the gift shop. There were some stellar (and expensive) items there among the usual magnets and stickers. This necklace is very well made and mysterious to look at, complete with R.A.B.'s note inside! Sadly, no pi allowed - were you able to sketch anything?

moreidlethoughts - it'd be great if you could make it down here. And how fun that you got to meet Angela in person!

The Garden Ms. S - you are more than welcome. Again, I'm so sorry that it took so long to get to you!

Lucille -Wish I would have seen the Horcrux necklaces. Missed those. It was a little too crowded to sketch, and I was with non-drawing friends, so sadly, I didn't get to.

Love the Greensleeves and her pomegranate! So wish I could grow them here, miss them.

Was lucky enough (in my SF life) to visit Pixar studios a few times - they were a client. drawings on the walls everywhere! Fascinating to see sketches at different stages of development, and also props worked out as sculptures scattered around the building. fascinating place.
