The Illustration Master Class -

-has just opened registration for its 2009 incarnation. I debated and deliberated a bit - it not being that many months since the *last* one, but have decided to register for this years' as well. Partly because it was just a terrific, creative kick in the pants, and partly because Charles Vess is coming as faculty this go 'round.

I've made it through more than half of the goals I came back with from the last one, and am working on most of the others. If nothing else, it should help me to continue to refine and focus my professional energies and direction.

All good.

Finishing up -

After learning much and working hard, we attempted to finish up the paintings we were working on -

(They were to be put on display for us and the invited neighborhood, newspapers, etc... regardless of their level of finish).

There were so many amazingly talented people - who did great and somewhat intimidating work...
All were taken to the wunderarts gallery, displayed and then it opened to the public -

It was great fun to see every one's pieces - especially how much they evolved over the week.

The place was hot, full, and hoppin'. As this was our last night, there was much visiting and companionable interaction -

-one of the highlights being that the faculty agreed to sign our sketchbooks (Boris Vallejo and Dan Dos Santos shown here).

So anyone who asked, got a very lovely signed pen-sketch (I love mine). It felt like high school, as many of us also signed and drew in each others' books.

Lots of things to remember the week and each other by - which is good! Whatever we can to keep the momentum going!

Tomorrow - I'll post the piece that I worked on last week.
