At the end of the summer, co-illustrator Jo Gershman and I filmed a brief little book promo for our publisher, Feiwel & Friends in honor of the newly released Wind Dancers. You can now find it on Youtube.
And here.

That wasn't bad! I know, though, it's tough seeing yourself on the screen. I can't even stand to hear my own voice on tape. It's weird! And even still photos-- about one photo of myself in 50 will look halfway unstupid to me.
Wooooo! I get to see AND hear you- (you wouldn't catch me doing that!) it was great, both of you, or should that be all three of you?
there is nothing wrong with the video! Glad you posted it. Always nice to have an actual voice to go with a blog.
Wow, great to see you and as Gretel says hear you too Tara ... well done ... it's a lovely video too ;-)

Not dorky at all! (And I LOVE the horse!) It is surreal to see yourself on film, or hear your own voice though. Wonder why that is? :-)
What fun catching up on your posts and this video was the cherry on top.
I agree, so lovely to see & hear you Tara, and well done, u are far braver than i could ever be! *ruthie*
I think it is quite charming.
(And you have a great smile that the camera really picks up)
Remy the horse is a bit stiff but you and Jo are naturals. It's nice to hear your voice. It sounds exactly right.
OK we will never speak of it again, but what was wrong with it, I must have missed something.....
not the biggest dork...that would be me...wishing you a blessed and happy thanksgiving...hugs, rebecca
You did just fine. And you were working with a difficult actor to boot. (That would be Remy, not Jo, btw.)
When my family makes movies, I usually move quickly to do the narration--SO I CAN HIDE. So yes, I do understand your concerns about this. But really, you have nothing to be worried about--it turned out well.
Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving.
You are very brave and not at all dorky!
When I was a teacher they wanted me to do a video and I refused.
Still coveting your chickens.........
You seem very professional to me...Remy seems to be waiting on her apple...I've decided that Arianna, my Grandprincess is going to be receiving Wind Dancers for Christmas...
thanks!
Sandi
I think you are a bit harsh, the horse wasn't that much of a dork, all things considered...
I'm there with Gretel too, it's really excellent to be able to hear your voice!
